The Digital Cinema Distribution Services unit has a new supervisor

2 October 2018, Munich – Personnel change at ARRI Media: As planned, Renate Scheliga is now taking on the position of Head of Cinema Distribution & Mastering, replacing Martin Schwertführer, who has been preparing her for this responsibility since she joined ARRI Media, and who is going into retirement.

Martin Schwertführer has headed the Digital Cinema Distribution Services department with resounding success for many years. With numerous innovative measures introduced during his tenure, he has given film distributors and rights holders all the best reasons to continue to rely on ARRI Media for film distribution services. For example, most film distributors in the German-speaking countries utilise the ARRI Fusion Network that he and his team developed, to get their films or alternative cinema content onto the big screen.

Despite his well-earned retirement, Martin Schwerführer's expertise will not be lost to ARRI Media, with him remaining on in a consulting capacity. He will also continue to contribute his know-how on a part-time basis in the field of restoration and digital remastering, where he will assist Axel Vogelmann, Head of Restoration/Preservation/Team Lead Media Asset Management.

Renate Scheliga joined ARRI Media in early 2017 as Senior Sales Manager Cinema Distribution and Business Development, and she looks back on a wide diversity of experience in the movie industry. Before hiring on at ARRI Media, she worked in Operations and Marketing for the Cinecittà Multiplex Cinema in Nuremberg. Between 2001 and 2014 she held various positions at Universal Pictures International Germany in Frankfurt and was instrumental as Sales Director Germany in the marketing of Universal's extensive film portfolio.

Josef Reidinger, Managing Director of ARRI Media: "I'd like to thank Martin Schwertführer for his untiring and prolific engagement in the past and for having the foresight to call Renate Scheliga into the team so early on and pass on so much of his know-how to her. We are very happy that Renate Scheliga is now ready and willing to take on this new challenge, and I wish them both continued success and enjoyment with their new responsibilities."
