ARRI @ Bavaria Film Open House
Customers, staff and friends of both ARRI and Bavaria Film took the unique opportunity to become personally acquainted with the state-of-the-art ARRI camera and lighting systems, and the brand-new video and sound processing options offered by ARRI Media. With great pride, the new Dolby Vision Grading Studio with laser projection was presented – the first of its kind outside the USA! Delighted crowds enjoyed the breathtaking presentations in the leading-edge Dolby Atmos sound studio. They were treated to excerpts from films like recent Best Camera Oscar winner THE REVENANT in HDR (High Dynamic Range) and Dolby Atmos. Magnificent sequences bore witness to the unparalleled image quality of the ALEXA 65, which was used not only for THE REVENANT but also on films the likes of SNOWDEN, HOW TO BE SINGLE, CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR and STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE. Visitors also had the opportunity to experience the versatility of the new LED soft light SkyPanel (e.g. STAR WARS - EPISODE VII, STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE, THE HUNTSMEN & THE ICE QUEEN) and the high-performance M-Series (LIFE OF PIE, MAD MAX – FURY ROAD, SPECTRE, JURASSIC WORLD) – lights that no modern movie is complete without.
The highlight of the event was the Open House Night, attended by stars of the movie scene, hosted by the charming Nina Eichinger and opened with a speech by Martin Moszkowicz, CEO of Constantin Film AG. In his address he expressed his gratitude to ARRI for giving filmmakers the technology that enables them to create even better material for audiences. Franz Kraus and Dr. Jörg Pohlman, Board members at ARRI AG, Dr. Christian Franckenstein and Achim Rohnke, Managing Directors of Bavaria Film GmbH and Fritz Deininger, Dolby Regional Director Central Europe, followed with brief speeches welcoming the guests and presenting new technologies.
