ARRI Media goes 360° Virtual Reality
For the company KARL MAYER Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH, we used a 360° virtual reality application for the first time to analyze and adapt the content we had produced, to present it to the customer and then to add the finishing touches.
We built a 3D model of the stand and mapped the video content onto the 360° media space it contained. Director Rico Reitz realized the filming with a camera rig and 6 GO-Pro cameras. With the aid of Oculus Rift glasses, it was possible to document the status of production with the agency and the customer at any time – virtually and most of all with full immersion in 360°.
And virtual reality keeps developing. Now we can actually walk around virtual 360° spaces, and thanks to two wireless joysticks, take an active influence on them.
